Cities who participate will be asked to provide information in return for which:
- They will receive an Velo.Info status Award in Bronze, Silver, Gold or Platinum for their cycling policy.
- They will receive their 'City Characteristics Report' and it will be published on the Spicycles Interactive Map for Europe on Cycling planning.
- Participating cities will be able to produce online a Comparison Report comparing their city with other participating cities.
- They will be invited to discuss results of the work done in Seminars and Meetings.
- They will receive Electronic Newsletters and will be kept informed.

Use the Velo.Info Benchmarking Tool, in a few simple steps:
Questionnaire I
Benchmark your city/community with the Velo.Info tool; Fill in the Velo.Info Benchmark Questionnaire consisting of 19 simple multiple choice questions and you will be awarded with a Velo.Info Status in bronze, silver, gold or platinum.
Questionnaire II
Fill in the 'City Characteristics Questionnaire' with questions on:
- General characteristics
- Transport characteristics
- Bicycle routes and infrastructure
- Bicycle safety
- Bicycle security
- Bicycle policy
- Bicycle promotion
- Bicycle projects
As a result you will be receiving your Velo.Info status Award in Bronze, Silver, Gold or Platinum for your cycling policy and you will be receiving your City Characteristics Report, with the opportunity to compare to any other city in the data base.
